Tile Types

Photo Album Builder only supports certain image files. Recommended image file types are as follows:
.jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, .bmp.

Album URL

The components that make up your photo album need to be stored in a directory in your Angelfire account. Choose a name for the directory and type it in the text field. The URL for your album will then look something like this:
https://www.angelfire.com/ny6/freddo/vacationpics/
Hint: Choose a name that has something to do with the contents of your photo album. That way, you'll find it easier to remember the URL for your album!

HTML Filter & Spam Filters

HTML is the programming language used to build websites, and it allows control over the format of your pages. For example, it can be used to add links and images, or to italicize text or make it bold.

It can be useful to allow your visitors to format their comments using HTML tags. However, there is some risk in allowing people to add code to your pages. The filter allows you to control what types of code your visitors are allowed to post in their comments, reducing the amount of spam that might be posted.

Speaking of spam, the Photo Album also has a CAPTCHA setting. CAPTCHA, or "Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart," is a level of spam protection that prevents automated scripts from posting comments on your pages. When you include CAPTCHA on your comments pages, a visitor must type in a verification code before a comment can be submitted. If you choose not to include CAPTCHA on your comments pages, visitors will not need to take the extra step before leaving comments. However, you risk being spammed by automated scripts.

Note: Members who are logged in to Tripod will not be challenged with CAPTCHA regardless of your chosen settings, because the log in process has already identified their status.

Upload via FTP

If you are using Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7, you can easily drag and drop multiple photos into your photo album using Windows FTP. You do not have to download or purchase special software.

  • In your Angelfire FTP window, double click the folder name for your photo album. If you already have pictures in your album, you'll see the file names listed here.
  • Now, go back to the Angelfire Photo Album manager, select your album and click the Edit Photos button.
  • The photos you uploaded will be saved in draft mode (the boxes will be green). To remove them from draft mode, click the Show Picture link next to the photo thumbnail. Repeat this for all the photos you just uploaded. You can also add titles and captions if you choose.
  • When you're done, click Save Changes. View your album again and your new pictures are now there!
