  • Useless trivia:
Angelfire was founded in 1995 by Bill and Ron, one of whom let his girlfriend at the time name the website. It didn't work out, but the name stuck.

In the early days of Angelfire there was extensive information about angels and medical transcription on the site - the ex who named the site was also a medical transcriber.

Bill and Ron sold Angelfire to us in 1998. We moved the company HQ to a remote location, hidden in the mountains of western Massachusetts. We got a little lonely there, so we moved again - now we're just outside of Boston, where we can see good live music seven nights a week, eat at diners 24 hours a day, and sneak out of work in the middle of the afternoon to go watch the Red Sox.

Speaking of 1995, back then we offered a whopping 25K of disk space (approx. 1/200th of an mp3) and there was a 24-48 hour waiting period to upload an image. Aren't you glad you live in the future?

And speaking of mp3's, did you know that some of the more musically talented members of Team Angelfire have had their tunes featured on The OC, MTV, VH1, and in more than a few movies and mega mash-up mixes? It's true. Another one of the team traveled the world winning money in Magic tournaments. A couple others used to do a fanzine about Crispin Glover. How random is that?
