How to FTP Photos To your Album

If you are using Windows 98, 2000 or XP, you can easily drag and drop multiple photos into your photo album using Windows FTP. You do not have to download or purchase any special software.

  • First, if you haven't already done so, you'll need to create an Angelfire photo album. (Click here to learn how.)
  • Next, open IE and type this into the address line: ftp.angelfire.com
  • A box will pop up; type in your Angelfire username and password.

  • In your Angelfire FTP window, doubleclick on the folder name for your photo album. If you already have pictures in your album, you'll see the file names listed here.
  • Now, open Windows Explorer on your computer (Start > Program Files > Accessories > Windows Explorer) and browse to the folder with the pictures you want to place into your online album.
  • Select the file on your local machine that you wish to move, and drag it from your local window to the FTP window. To move multiple files at once, hold down the Shift key while you click on the files, then drag them all at once to the FTP window.

  • When you're done uploading, you can close both windows.
  • Now go back to the Angelfire Photo Album manager, select your album and click on the "Edit album" icon.
  • The photos you uploaded will be saved in draft mode (the boxes will be green). To remove them from draft mode, click on the link next to the photo thumbnail that says "show picture." Repeat this for all the photos you just uploaded. You can also add titles and captions if you want.

  • When you're done click "Save Changes." View your album again and your new pictures are now there!
